Cross-scale tissue engineering (X-TEL) lab at Stanford University is now forming a team of self-motivated postdoctoral fellows with commitment to translational medicine.

The overarching goal of our lab is to understand the cross-scale interactions (across different levels of biological organization in their own multi-scaled environmental contexts) mediated through the vasculatures in various pathophysiological conditions and to identify the vascular routes that induce desirable cell behaviors. We have successfully established in vitro experimental models equipped with the capacity of real-time monitoring of individual cell behaviors, which allows precise and independent control of the experimental parameters in highly time- and cost- efficient ways and facilitates the development of therapeutic and preventive treatment strategies in consideration of the phenotype variations across the patient population. For more information, please visit our website (http://med.stanford.edu/x-tel.html).

We are seeking highly motivated postdoctoral fellows to utilize our in vitro model for investigating various pathophysiological conditions in their own research expertise.

X-TEL offers a truly multi-disciplinary environment to effectively address the many aspects of translational medicine. The opportunities are open to the fields of, but not limited to, organ-on-chip, bioengineering, bioimaging, biomaterials, nano- and micro-fabrication, oncology, developmental biology, and immunology. Lab members are encouraged to have co-mentors in her/his own specialty field throughout Stanford community.

To apply, please send to Wonjae (wjh@stanford.edu) your Biographical sketch (using NIH format), a description of research interests and accomplishment, and the names and contact information of three references.
