POST DOCTORAL POSITION FOR COMPUTATIONAL EPIGENETICS OPEN IN SINGAPORE, TEMASEK LIFESCIENCE LABORATORY |
DESCRIPTION Epigenetic variation, which is heritable variation that is not due to sequence changes, has been linked to DNA methylation, non coding RNAs, histone modifications and recently histone variants. Although mechanistic links have been made between different type of epigenetic marks such as H3K9 methylation, DNA methylation and 24nt siRNAs in plants the extent of connection between the various types of epigenetic marks remains largely unknown. I am recruiting a postdoctoral fellow for my group at Temasek LifeSciences Laboratory to investigate the potential connection between histone variants and non-coding RNAs.
QUALIFICATIONS: A Ph.D. in Genetics, Plant Biology, Biochemistry, or Bioinformatics (or equivalent specialization) and working knowledge of statistics as it applies to the design and interpretation of large, multifactorial experiments. Some experience with microarrays or, even better, quantitative sequencing is preferable. One first author publication in English in international peer-reviewed journal is required.
APPLICATION: Review of applications is ongoing with a target starting date sometime in 2012.
