Glo-harmony Scholarship

Overview

Seoul National University has been one of collaborative institutions of the Samsung Equal Opportunity Scholarship Foundation’s Glo-harmony (domestic scholarship for students from developing nations) Scholarship Program. The program started from spring semester of 2008. SNU will select two undergraduate/graduate students among applicants from developing countries for Fall semester 2011.

Eligibility Criteria

▪        Students from OECD/DAC recipient country:

▪        Undergraduate students: going into first, second or third year in Spring 2012

▪        Demonstrating financial need

▪        Majoring in Humanities or Social Sciences are given priority

▪        Willing and capable of contributing to their home country upon graduation.

▪        Having potential to become a global leader

▪        Language proficiency of either English or Korean is highly recommended, but not compulsory

Value of Scholarship

▪        Full Tuition Fee is provided by SNU starting from 2012 Spring (Maximum of 8 semesters)

▪        Scholarships will be revised and renewed every year depending on their grades, study ability, improvements in Korean Language, and fund availability at the time of renewal.

▪        Financial support (dormitory fee, insurance, text books, food, etc.) will be provided by Samsung Equal Opportunity Scholarship Foundation

Procedure & Important Dates

Application deadline: Jan. 27 (Fri), 2012 18:00

First Screening: Beginning of Feb.

Interview: End Feb.

         * Only those candidates selected for interview will be contacted

Results: Beginning of Mar.

        * Only final candidates will be notified.
