Up to 12 credits are accepted

Up to 18 credits are accepted

Common factors

Taking a same subject when you already took in Master program again in Doctoral    Program is not accepted as credits for completion of Doctoral program.

* You should check carefully if you took same subject repeatedly during the Master and Doctoral Program. Because the same subjects taken 2 times are considered one subject although you took it more than 2 times.

* Up to 6 credits of courses for undergraduate can be accepted as required credits for graduation in Master or Doctoral Program.

2. Period of thesis submission - Master's dissertation: within 4 years after completion of Master course. - Doctoral dissertation: within 6 years after completion of Doctoral course.

3. Required documents for conferment of Doctoral degree

Student who plans to present a Doctoral dissertation must submit the form attached to the department office with 1 copy of summary. *It is applied to the students entering Doctoral program in 2004 and beyond. *It is applied to students entering Combined Doctoral and Master Program in 2002 and beyond.

4. Required English Certificate (TEPS and TOEFL) • Criteria of College of Natural Sciences - Student ID: beyond 2001 ~ (TEPS: 550 , TOEFL(CBT): 203) - Student ID: prior to ~ 2000 (TEPS: 501, TOEFL(CBT): 193)

• Major Exam

- Master course: more than 60/100 - Doctoral course: more than 70/100

• The rise of Required TEPS level

- Previous: more than 550 à Current: more than 551 (raising 1point) It is applied to students entering school in 2008 and beyond.

• Curriculum for Graduate(students entering school in 2010 and beyond)

Departmental Course Requirements

1. Students in Doctoral program/Master program must take at least 3 subjects/2 subjects from the core courses in the table below. But, if the students in Doctoral program already took the 2 subjects from the core courses during Master program, then, at least 1 subject must be taken.

2. The core courses will be graded on a curve considering reflecting the thesis Qualification Exam.

3. From student ID #2015, the students should take the course[Research Ethics]. Before ID #2014, the students can select the course.

4. Any other cases that are not specified by curriculum follow the academic policy in School of Biological Sciences.

This academic policy applies to students entering school in 2010 and beyond. However, students who entered school in 2009 or prior may choose from either the current or the previous one.
