세포기능제어센터 공동주최강연 초록: Growing evidence suggests that stem and progenitor cells can be used to develop novel therapeutic modalities for various diseases including cardiovascular diseases. In this presentation, I will briefly review the concept of stem and progenitor cells and present data showing that bone marrow cells can be used to treat ischemic vascular disease. I will also show evidence that CD31 can be a marker encompassing hematopoietic stem and progenitor cells, angiogenic and vasculogenic cells among heterogeneous BM cell populations. At the end of the talk, I will briefly mention the concept and implication of induced pluripotent stem cells or iPS cell research.
